Sewer Line Patching
Targeted Repairs From Inside
One bad joint or a single crack in an otherwise solid sewer line? Our sewer line patching installs a structural repair right at the defect, without digging up your yard or driveway.
Sewer Line Patching for Isolated Cracks, Holes and Joints
Many sewer lines are in reasonable condition overall but have one or two problem spots: a cracked section, a small hole, a leaking joint or a point where roots keep entering. Replacing or lining the entire run to fix a few feet of damage doesn’t always make financial sense. Sewer line patching, also called a sectional point repair, targets just the damaged area with a short structural liner bonded tightly to the inside of the existing pipe.
Each patch is typically a few feet long, made from fiberglass or a similar material saturated with resin. It’s carried to the exact defect on an inflatable device, pressed against the pipe wall and cured in place, creating a hard, smooth, watertight section that bridges the damage. Because accuracy matters, our technicians measure the distance to each defect on camera and confirm the patch is centered over the problem before it cures.

When One Patch Is Enough and When It Isn't
Patching is the most economical repair when damage is limited to one or a few spots and the rest of the line is in good structural condition. A single cracked joint under a driveway, a root entry point near a tree or a small hole in otherwise solid pipe are classic examples. The repair is quick, preserves surfaces above and costs a fraction of excavating or lining the whole run.
As the number of defects grows, the math changes. Several patches spaced along the line can approach or exceed the cost of a full-length liner, which seals every joint at once. If the camera shows widespread cracking, corrosion or many root-prone joints, patching one spot may simply move the problem to the next weak joint. We’ll count and measure the defects with you and recommend the approach that delivers the best value over the long term.
Why Customers Choose Our Sewer Patching
Precision makes or breaks a patch, and we take measurements seriously. Our licensed and insured technicians prepare the pipe thoroughly, measure every defect from the cleanout and confirm placement on camera before curing. We use materials designed for sewer point repair and follow manufacturer cure guidelines. If patching isn’t the best value for your line, we’ll tell you so and explain the alternatives clearly, with the camera footage to back it up.

Benefits of Sewer Line Patching
Sewer line patching repairs isolated damage without excavation, protecting driveways, landscaping and floors. It costs less than lining or replacing an entire run when the rest of the pipe is healthy. Most patches are installed in a few hours, and drains can be used again soon after. The seamless repair seals out roots and groundwater at the defect. And it extends the life of a sound sewer line without unnecessary work.
Sewer Line Patching in CA, TX and FL
Our technicians install sewer point repairs across California, Texas and Florida, fixing isolated defects under driveways, patios, sidewalks and mature landscaping that owners would rather not disturb or pay to rebuild.
How a Sewer Patch Is Installed Inside the Pipe
Installing a patch from inside the pipe takes careful preparation and precise placement. Here’s a look at how it actually happens.
After the line is cleaned and measured, a fiberglass sleeve cut to the needed length is saturated with resin and wrapped around an inflatable bladder called a packer. The packer is pushed or pulled through the cleanout to the measured distance, guided and confirmed with the camera.
Once positioned, the packer inflates, pressing the patch firmly against the pipe wall over the defect. It stays inflated while the resin cures. The packer is then deflated and removed, leaving a hard, smooth repair bonded to the pipe, which is checked on camera immediately.
How Our Sewer Line Patching Works
We camera-inspect the line to identify each defect and decide whether patching is a sound, cost-effective solution for your situation.
After walking through the video together, you get a proposal listing each defect, the recommended patch length and the price. On repair day, the line is cleaned, roots are cut back and the pipe is jetted. A second camera pass measures each defect’s exact distance from the access point.
Patches are prepared, positioned at each defect and cured in place according to manufacturer guidelines. After curing, the camera verifies that each patch is centered, smooth and fully bonded. You’ll receive a copy of the video record, and drains are typically returned to service the same day.

Sewer Line Patching Questions Answered
What is a sewer point repair?
It’s a short structural liner installed inside the pipe at a specific defect, sealing a crack, hole or joint without excavation.
How long does a sewer patch last?
Properly installed patches are designed for long service, often decades. Preparation and the surrounding pipe’s condition affect overall line life.
Is patching cheaper than full lining?
For one or a few defects, yes. When many defects exist, a full-length liner often provides better value by sealing everything at once.
Can patches be installed in cast iron?
Yes, once the pipe is descaled and cleaned so the patch bonds properly. Badly deteriorated cast iron may need lining or replacement instead.
Will a patch reduce my pipe's flow?
Patches are thin and smooth, so the slight reduction in diameter is usually offset by better flow over the repaired surface.
