PEX Repiping Services
Flexible, Efficient Water Lines
Considering PEX for your repipe? Our plumbers install PEX water systems with quality tubing, rated fittings and smart layouts that deliver reliable flow with less wall damage.
PEX Repiping That Uses the Material's Strengths Properly
PEX, short for cross-linked polyethylene, has become the most widely installed water supply pipe in new homes and repipes. Its flexibility is the biggest advantage. Long runs can be snaked through walls, ceilings and attics with far fewer joints and openings than rigid pipe, which shortens installation and lowers drywall repair costs. PEX also resists the scale buildup and pinhole corrosion that shorten the life of metal pipe in many water conditions.
Getting the most from PEX depends on installation details. Tubing must be supported at proper intervals, allowed room to expand and contract with temperature and kept within its minimum bend radius to avoid kinks. It needs protection from sunlight and from direct heat sources such as flue pipes and recessed lights. Connections must use fittings and tools certified for the specific tubing type. Our plumbers follow manufacturer and code requirements on every PEX repiping project.

Choosing Between PEX-A and PEX-B for Your Repipe
PEX is made by several manufacturing methods, which produce types labeled A, B and C. PEX-A is the most flexible and has a shape memory that allows kinks to be repaired with heat. It’s typically joined with expansion fittings, where the tubing is stretched over the fitting and shrinks back to form a tight seal. Because the fitting’s inner diameter is close to the tubing’s, expansion connections restrict flow very little.
PEX-B is stiffer, generally less expensive and very common in residential plumbing. It’s joined with crimp rings, stainless clamp rings or press sleeves over insert fittings, which have a slightly smaller opening than the tubing. Both types perform reliably when installed correctly with certified components. We’ll explain which type and fitting system we recommend for your project, based on layout, flow requirements, budget and the tubing manufacturer’s published installation guidelines.
Why Homeowners Choose Us for PEX Repiping
We install PEX the way manufacturers intend, using matching tubing, fittings and tools from certified systems rather than mixing components. Our licensed and insured plumbers support lines correctly, keep tubing away from heat sources and protect it from sunlight. We design efficient layouts, including manifolds when they make sense, and label shutoffs clearly. Every system is pressure tested before inspection, and we’ll show you how to isolate individual lines in an emergency.

Benefits of PEX Repiping for Your Home
PEX repiping usually costs less than copper, thanks to lower material prices and faster installation. Its flexibility means fewer joints, fewer potential leak points and smaller wall openings. PEX resists scale, chlorine-related pitting and corrosion in many water conditions. It handles freezing better than rigid pipe, often expanding rather than splitting. And PEX reduces water hammer noise while helping hot water arrive with less heat loss through the pipe walls.
PEX Repiping in CA, TX and FL
Our plumbers install PEX repiping systems across California, Texas and Florida, where PEX is widely approved under local plumbing codes and well suited to slab homes, attic routing and freeze-prone areas.
Protecting PEX From Sunlight, Heat and Pests
PEX is durable, but it has a few vulnerabilities. Proper installation protects against each one and keeps your system performing for decades.
Ultraviolet light degrades PEX, so tubing must be stored out of the sun and never left exposed outdoors or under skylights. Indoors, it should be kept clear of flue pipes, recessed light housings and other heat sources. Many manufacturers also require metal transition pieces near gas water heater connections.
Rodents occasionally chew plastic pipe in attics and crawl spaces. Sealing entry points, using protective sleeves where needed and addressing any rodent problem reduces that risk. Where PEX passes through framing, protective plates guard against nails and screws, preventing punctures during future remodeling or picture hanging.
How Our PEX Repiping Works
We inspect your existing plumbing and discuss whether a manifold, trunk-and-branch or hybrid PEX layout suits your home and family best.
You’ll receive a written proposal detailing the PEX type, fitting system, routes, access openings and cost. Permits are pulled where required. During installation, tubing is pulled through walls, ceilings and attics with careful attention to support spacing, bend radius and separation from heat sources and electrical lines.
Connections are made with certified fittings and tools, nail plates are installed where tubing passes through framing and the system is pressure tested. After inspection, the old pipes are disconnected, fixtures are connected and flushed and you’ll learn how to use your manifold or new shutoff valves.

PEX Repiping Questions Answered
Is PEX safe for drinking water?
Yes. PEX used for potable water is certified to drinking water safety standards and is approved by plumbing codes throughout the country.
How long does PEX last?
Properly installed PEX is expected to last many decades. Protection from sunlight, excess heat and physical damage helps it reach its full lifespan.
Can PEX connect directly to a water heater?
Many manufacturers require a metal connector or minimum distance at gas water heaters. We follow the tubing and heater manufacturers’ requirements.
Does PEX make water taste different?
Some people notice a slight taste or odor in new systems, which typically fades after flushing and regular use over the first weeks.
Is PEX-A better than PEX-B?
PEX-A is more flexible and uses full-flow expansion fittings. PEX-B is stiffer and economical. Both perform well when installed correctly.
