Gas Line Services
Installed and Repaired Safely
Adding a gas range, running a line to the patio or dealing with a failed gas test? Our licensed plumbers install, repair and test natural gas and propane piping to code.
Gas Line Services Handled by Licensed, Experienced Gas Plumbers
Gas piping carries fuel to furnaces, water heaters, ranges, dryers, fireplaces, grills and pool heaters. Unlike water lines, a small mistake doesn’t just cause a drip. Undersized pipe can starve appliances of fuel, causing poor performance and incomplete combustion. Loose joints or damaged pipe can leak gas into living spaces. That’s why gas work is regulated by fuel gas codes and usually requires a permit, pressure testing and an inspection before the system goes into service.
Our licensed plumbers handle the full range of gas line services, from running new branch lines for appliances to repairing corroded or damaged piping, replacing shutoff valves and connectors and performing the pressure tests required by inspectors and utilities. We work with natural gas and propane systems in homes and commercial buildings. Every job starts with a load calculation and route plan and ends with a tested, leak-free system and the documentation your inspector needs.

Black Iron, CSST and Polyethylene Gas Piping Explained
Black iron pipe has been the standard for interior gas piping for generations. It’s strong, durable and resistant to physical damage, with threaded joints sealed using gas-rated compound or tape. It takes more labor to cut, thread and route, but it remains a reliable choice for exposed runs in basements, garages and mechanical rooms. Coated steel or other approved materials are used where piping needs extra protection against corrosion in damp locations or outdoors.
Corrugated stainless steel tubing, known as CSST, is flexible and runs through walls and attics with fewer joints, which can reduce installation time. Manufacturers and codes require CSST to be properly bonded to the electrical grounding system to reduce damage from lightning-related electrical surges. Underground runs typically use polyethylene pipe with tracer wire and approved transition fittings where the pipe comes above ground. We choose materials that suit the location, appliance load and local code.

And having one licensed team handle everything makes adding gas appliances simple and stress-free.
Gas Line Services in CA, TX and FL
Our licensed plumbers provide gas line services for homes and businesses in communities across California, Texas and Florida, working with natural gas utilities and propane suppliers to complete compliant, inspected installations.
Natural Gas and Propane: Key Differences
Many homes use natural gas from a utility, while rural properties often rely on propane stored in a tank. The piping principles are similar, but important details differ.
Natural gas is lighter than air and typically supplied at low pressure through the utility meter. Propane is heavier than air, so leaking propane can collect in low areas like basements and crawl spaces. Propane systems use regulators at the tank and sometimes at the house to deliver appliance pressure.
Appliances must be configured for the fuel they burn, since natural gas and propane need different orifices and settings. Converting an appliance requires the manufacturer’s conversion kit and careful adjustment. Pipe sizing also differs because the fuels carry different energy content. We design and install systems specifically for your fuel type.
How Our Gas Line Services Work
We review the appliances you want to add or the problem you’re experiencing, inspect existing piping and check your meter or tank capacity.
You’ll receive a plan covering pipe size, route, materials, permits and cost. When work begins, the gas supply is shut off safely, piping is installed or repaired using approved methods and shutoff valves and sediment traps are added at appliances as code requires, with all joints sealed using gas-rated materials.
The system is pressure tested and inspected by the local authority when required. Once approved, gas is restored, lines are purged safely and appliances are relit and checked for proper operation. We perform a final leak check at every joint and explain where each shutoff valve is located before we leave.

Gas Line Services Questions Answered
Do gas lines need a permit?
In most areas, yes. New gas piping and many repairs require a permit, a pressure test and an inspection before gas is turned on.
What should I do if I smell gas?
Get everyone out right away, avoid switches and flames, then phone the gas company or 911 once you’re safely outside. Wait for the all-clear.
Can existing lines handle another appliance?
Often, but the existing pipe must be large enough for the added load. We calculate total demand before connecting new appliances.
Is CSST safe for gas lines?
CSST is an approved material when installed and bonded according to manufacturer instructions and code, which reduces lightning-related surge risk.
Do you work on propane systems?
Yes. We install and repair propane piping inside and outside the home, coordinating with your propane supplier for tank and regulator work.
