Bathroom Faucet Repair
Vanity Faucets and Stoppers
Bathroom sink faucet dripping, handles loose or the pop-up stopper refusing to hold water? Our plumbers repair centerset, widespread, single-hole and wall-mount bathroom faucets of all brands.
Bathroom Faucet Repair for Every Vanity Faucet Configuration
Bathroom faucets come in several layouts, and each is built differently underneath. Centerset faucets combine the spout and two handles on a single base, usually spanning four inches. Widespread faucets have three separate pieces, with each handle connected to its own valve and a tee or mixing hose joining hot and cold beneath the sink. Single-hole faucets use one lever and a single cartridge. Wall-mount and vessel faucets have their own installation details and access challenges.
Knowing the configuration tells our plumbers where to look and which parts to bring. Two-handle faucets often use quarter-turn ceramic valves or compression stems, one for each side, so a drip from the spout can be traced to either the hot or the cold valve. Single-lever faucets rely on one cartridge for both temperature and flow. Many bathroom faucets also include a pop-up drain assembly, which is a frequent source of small leaks and frustration.

How We Diagnose Drips on Two-Handle Bathroom Faucets
When a two-handle bathroom faucet drips, the first step is figuring out which side is responsible. One simple method is to close the hot water shutoff under the sink and watch the spout. If the drip stops, the hot valve is the problem. If it continues, the cold side is leaking. Water temperature can offer a clue as well, since a warm drip usually points to the hot valve after a few minutes.
Once the side is identified, the repair depends on valve type. Compression stems use rubber washers that press against a seat, and both the washer and seat may need attention. Quarter-turn ceramic valves rarely wear but can trap debris or crack. Replacing both valves at the same time is often wise, since they’ve aged equally. Our plumbers match valves to your faucet brand, because many look similar but have different splines and lengths.

Benefits of Professional Bathroom Faucet Repair
Repairing a bathroom faucet stops wasted water and the mineral stains drips leave on sinks and countertops. Matched parts restore smooth handles and consistent temperature. Fixing pop-up drains lets your sink hold water again and stops slow leaks under the vanity. Careful handling protects decorative finishes. And repairing instead of replacing keeps a faucet that matches your other bathroom fixtures, avoiding the cost of updating the entire matching set of fixtures.

Fixing a Pop-Up Drain Stopper That Won't Work
The pop-up stopper in a bathroom sink is a simple mechanism, but it causes plenty of complaints when its parts loosen, corrode or misalign.
Behind the drain, a horizontal pivot rod connects the stopper to a vertical lift rod through a metal strap with holes. If the stopper won’t stay up or doesn’t seal, the pivot rod may need moving to another hole, or its nut may be loose. Hair and soap buildup on the stopper also prevents sealing.
A leak at the pivot rod usually means its gasket has worn out. Corroded drain bodies and broken pivot balls are common in older sinks. Repairing or replacing the drain assembly restores proper function and stops drips that slowly damage the vanity cabinet floor underneath.
How Our Bathroom Faucet Repair Works
Tell us the problem and, if possible, send a photo of the faucet so we can identify the style and bring parts.
Your plumber protects the vanity, shuts off the water and removes handles and trim to access the valves or cartridge. The drain assembly and supply connections are checked too. You’ll learn what’s worn, which parts are needed and the cost of the repair before anything is replaced.
Worn valves, cartridges or seals are replaced, and the faucet is reassembled with trim and handles aligned neatly. We repair or adjust the pop-up drain if needed, then run hot and cold water, test the stopper and check for leaks on the countertop and inside the vanity.

Bathroom Faucet Repair Questions Answered
Which side of my faucet is dripping?
Close one shutoff valve at a time under the sink. If the drip stops, the valve on that side is the one leaking.
Why won't my sink stopper stay up?
The pivot rod may need adjusting or its nut may be loose. Worn or corroded drain parts can also prevent the stopper from staying put.
Can you repair widespread faucets?
Yes. We repair each handle’s valve, the mixing tee and the connecting hoses beneath three-piece widespread bathroom faucets of most brands.
Why is water leaking under my vanity?
Common causes include a worn pop-up pivot gasket, loose drain connections, faulty supply lines or a leaking faucet base or valve.
Will repair damage my faucet's finish?
Not when done carefully. We use protective techniques and proper tools to remove handles and trim without scratching decorative finishes.
