Drain Camera Inspection
See the Problem, Skip the Guesswork

Recurring clogs, mystery odors or slow drains nobody can explain? Our drain camera inspection shows exactly what’s happening inside your pipes, so repairs target the real problem.

Inside Your Pipes

Drain Camera Inspection That Shows What's Really Inside Your Pipes

Most drain problems happen where nobody can see them: inside walls, beneath concrete slabs and under the yard. Without looking inside, even an experienced plumber is making an educated guess about what’s causing a clog or odor. A drain camera inspection removes that guesswork. A waterproof camera on a flexible push rod travels through your drain line, sending live video to a monitor so your plumber can see buildup, cracks, roots, sags and separated joints as they appear.

The camera head also carries a small transmitter, called a sonde, that can be tracked from above ground with a handheld locator. When the camera finds a problem, your plumber can mark its exact position on the floor or lawn and read its depth. That means any repair can be targeted precisely, keeping concrete cutting or excavation to a minimum. Footage is recorded so you can review it, share it with family or keep it for insurance records.

When to Inspect

When Looking Inside Your Drains Makes Sense

The most common reason is a clog that won’t stay gone. If a drain has been snaked or jetted more than once in a year, something inside the pipe is catching debris, and only a camera will reveal what. Unexplained sewer odors indoors, slow drainage that affects one bathroom group but not others, and water appearing where it shouldn’t near a slab are also good reasons to look inside before spending money on repairs.

Planning ahead is another smart use. Before a kitchen or bathroom remodel, a quick inspection confirms that the existing drains can be reused, saving you from discovering a broken pipe after new tile is installed. In older homes with cast iron or clay drains, a camera inspection reveals how much life is left in the system. After any major cleaning or repair, a final camera pass confirms the work was done correctly.

Benefits of Video Drain Inspection

Seeing inside the pipe leads to better, cheaper decisions. Video footage pinpoints the exact location and cause of problems, so repairs are targeted and unnecessary digging or demolition is avoided. It prevents paying for repeated cleanings that never address the real issue. Recorded footage provides proof for insurance claims, warranty disputes or property sales. And for older homes, it gives a clear picture of drain condition, helping you plan maintenance and budget for future replacement.

What a Drain Camera Can and Cannot Show

Video inspections are powerful, but knowing their limits helps you understand the results and what may still need further testing.

A camera clearly shows grease and scale buildup, roots, cracks, offset or separated joints, corrosion, foreign objects and sags where water collects. With a locator, it also shows where the problem sits and how deep. Footage captures the interior condition of the pipe at the time of inspection.

It can’t see outside the pipe, so soil conditions or leaks around the line aren’t visible directly. Standing water in a sag can hide part of the pipe floor. Heavy blockages may need clearing before the camera can pass. When leaks are suspected, pressure or flow testing may be added for a complete picture.

How Our Video Drain Diagnosis Works

Tell us what symptoms prompted the inspection and which drains are affected. We’ll identify the best access points before arriving.

Your plumber accesses the drain through a cleanout, trap or removed fixture and guides the camera through the line while watching the live feed. Problem areas are paused on, recorded and located from above with the locator, so their position and depth can be marked precisely on the floor or ground.

Afterward, you’ll review the footage with your plumber, who explains what was found and whether action is needed. You’ll receive the recording for your records. If repairs or cleaning are recommended, we’ll explain the options, costs and urgency clearly so you can decide what to do next.
