Bathroom Sink Installation
Vanity, Pedestal and Wall-Hung
New vanity, a space-saving pedestal sink or a double vanity for a shared bathroom? Our plumbers install bathroom sinks of every style, adjusting drains and supplies so everything fits cleanly.
Bathroom Sink Installation Planned Around Your Vanity and Layout
Bathroom sink installation varies widely depending on the sink style. Vanity sinks, whether drop-in, undermount, integrated or vessel, sit on a cabinet that hides the plumbing. Pedestal sinks rest on a narrow column with most of their weight carried by a wall bracket. Wall-hung sinks mount directly to the wall, leaving open space beneath. Console sinks sit on legs with exposed plumbing. Each style has different requirements for wall support, plumbing position and appearance.
Existing drain and supply locations don’t always suit a new sink. A pedestal sink needs the drain and supplies tucked tightly behind its column, while a wider vanity or double vanity may need the plumbing shifted or duplicated. Exposed plumbing under pedestal, console and wall-hung sinks should look neat, often with polished traps and supply lines. Our plumbers adjust rough-in locations when needed and install each sink so it’s secure, level and visually tidy.

Why Pedestal and Wall-Hung Sinks Need Solid Blocking
Pedestal and wall-hung sinks don’t have a cabinet to carry their weight. A pedestal sink’s column provides some support and conceals plumbing, but the basin is primarily held by a bracket or bolts anchored in the wall. Wall-hung sinks depend entirely on their wall mounting. Drywall alone can’t hold that load, especially when someone leans on the sink, so solid wood blocking or a mounting carrier must be installed between the studs behind the wall.
In new construction or remodels, blocking is easy to add before the wall is closed. In a finished bathroom, we cut a small access opening, add the blocking and patch it before installation. The mounting height also matters, because it determines where the drain and supply connections should sit. We confirm blocking, mounting height and rough-in positions before installation, so the sink is rock solid and the plumbing lines up neatly behind it.
Why Customers Trust Our Bathroom Sink Installs
A bathroom sink has to look good and work hard, so we pay attention to both. Our licensed and insured plumbers check wall support, vanity level and plumbing positions before installation, relocate drains and supplies cleanly when needed and choose finished trap and supply parts for exposed plumbing. Sinks are mounted securely, sealed neatly and tested for drainage and leaks. We protect floors, walls and countertops and leave the bathroom clean and ready for use.

Benefits of Professional Bathroom Sink Installation
Professional installation keeps bathroom sinks firmly mounted, so they won’t loosen, crack or pull away from the wall. Correctly positioned drains and supplies look tidy and avoid awkward pipe runs. Double vanities drain properly and quietly without gurgling. Accessible sinks meet clearance and safety needs for users with mobility concerns. And a carefully sealed, fully tested installation protects vanities, walls and flooring from the slow leaks that often follow rushed installations.

Plumbing a Double Vanity the Right Way
Upgrading from one sink to two is a popular remodel, but a double vanity needs more than a second faucet. Planning the plumbing matters.
Each sink needs its own hot and cold supply lines with shutoff valves. On the drain side, the two sinks can each connect to the wall drain with separate traps, or they may be joined using approved fittings, depending on the spacing and local code. Venting must also be adequate for both fixtures.
If the existing bathroom has a single sink, the drain and supply lines usually need extending inside the wall to reach the second location. It is easiest to handle this while a remodel has the wall framing exposed. Proper planning prevents slow drainage, gurgling and siphoned traps between the two sinks.
How Our Bathroom Sink Installation Works
We review your sink and vanity choice, measure the space and check the existing drain, supply and wall support positions carefully.
If plumbing needs relocating or blocking needs installing, that work is completed first, often while walls are open. On installation day, the old sink and vanity are removed if needed, the area is cleaned and the new vanity or mounting hardware is installed level and secure.
The sink is set and sealed, the faucet and drain are installed and supply lines and traps are connected neatly. We fill and drain the sink, test the overflow and stopper, check every connection for leaks and confirm the sink is solidly mounted before cleaning up.

Bathroom Sink Installation Questions Answered
Can a pedestal sink replace my vanity?
Yes, but the plumbing may need adjusting to hide behind the pedestal, and wall blocking is often needed to support the basin securely.
Do wall-hung sinks need special support?
Yes. They require solid blocking or a mounting carrier inside the wall, since drywall alone cannot hold the sink’s weight and load.
Can you add a second sink?
Usually, yes. Drain and supply lines are extended to the new sink location, ideally during a remodel when the walls are open.
How long does bathroom sink installation take?
A simple sink swap takes a few hours. Pedestal, wall-hung or double vanity installations with plumbing changes can take a day or more.
What makes a sink ADA accessible?
Accessible sinks provide knee clearance underneath, a lower rim height, easy-to-use faucet controls and insulated or covered pipes to prevent burns.
